MY OFFICE 001 - THE BOXER PART 2

MY OFFICE 001 - THE BOXER PART 2

This is The Boxer Part 2

Can you tell me your name, where you're from, and a bit about yourself?
My name is Marco Romeo, also known as "Rumble" in the boxing world. I'm 21 years old and I've been boxing for about seven to eight years. I just turned professional this year with a record of 3-0. I'm looking to build a future in boxing.

MARCO ROMEO THE BOXER

Why did you start boxing?
I started boxing because I was quite overweight as a kid. After watching the Rocky movies, I decided to give it a try to lose weight. I went to a boxing gym and soon became passionate about the sport. The journey from watching Rocky to becoming a boxer myself was almost immediate.

How quickly did you get serious about boxing?
Pretty much straight away. After watching the Rocky movies, I started training hard. I'd wear a grey tracksuit like Rocky, run before school, and train every chance I got. Boxing quickly became a major part of my life. The feeling of winning and the emotional journey depicted in the Rocky movies really resonated with me. The hard work leading to an overwhelming moment of victory is something I wanted to experience.

What does it feel like walking into the ring?
I love it. I usually wear a mask from the movie "The Purge" for showmanship. The hard work is already done, and stepping into the ring feels like my moment to shine. I'm confident in my skills, and the hardest part for me is the training. The fight itself is where I enjoy myself the most.

How do you handle adversity during a fight?
I love overcoming challenges. Even when things aren't going my way, I enjoy the struggle and the opportunity to adjust my strategy between rounds. It's all about staying focused and determined to win.

How do you recover after a fight?
Recovery is pretty much the same whether I win or lose. I don't go out to celebrate; instead, I go home to rest and let my body recover. After a recent fight, I took two weeks off to relax, though I still stayed active with light exercises. It's important to let my head recover as well.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Competitive, passionate, and funny.

And a fourth word?
Determined.

What about a sentence to describe yourself?
I am Rumble, a passionate and competitive boxer determined to reach the top.

You often get dressed up for events. Is fashion important to you?
Yes, for events like press conferences, I like to stand out. Fashion helps draw more attention and exposure. Wearing something unique makes people notice you more, which can be beneficial for building a personal brand in boxing. I try to stand out as much as I can, especially where I know there will be cameras and interviews. It's part of my persona to wear something new and fashionable every time, even to stand out in a crowd of track suits.

What's your typical look?
When I'm in the gym, I'm usually in hoodies and track suits. But for events like press conferences or nights out, I like to dress up. I enjoy fashion and making a statement with my clothes. For example, today, I'm wearing a Doctor Denim outfit, which I would also wear to a press conference or a night out.

Describe your approach to fashion for meeting someone important, like Sylvester Stallone.
If I were to meet Sylvester Stallone, I'd dress to impress with something like this Doctor Denim outfit. It's stylish and stands out. Looking good and feeling good in what I'm wearing helps me project confidence.
